Congratulations firstly to the teashop which broke all records by taking £75.43. Obviously the credit crunch hasn't hit Cumnor and Abingdon.
Cumnor started the second half of the season with their best performance so far.
In the first game, Cumnor were lucky to take the lead after Max's corner bounced around in the penalty area before bobbling into the net. George M opened his account for the season with a long range effort to take the score to 2-0 at the break. After that Cumnor seemed to gain confidence, and as Abingdon pushed forward, Cumnor were able to to break them down with surging runs from defence and midfield. Congratulations to Max who won man of the match for his hat-trick.
In the second game, Cumnor came out knowing they only had to keep it tight to win. And keep it tight they did. Charlie T won man of the match for being everywhere, and tackling everyone. But the whole team stuck to the task in hand, and Cumnor could easily have won the game.
The friendly game allowed George D to get his first goal of the season, and for Adam and Charlie S to play midfield where they were able to test out their passing partnership. Well played to Hugo and August who defended stoutly especially in the first half.
