The U8s ended a fine season by winning the Radley tournament against strong opposition from Radley, Didcot and Ardington among others.
Playing in their most trusted formation, Cumnor were quick off the mark, winning their first match 2-0 against the eventual runners-up (Didcot Boys).
After that a series of fine performances gave Cumnor 5 straight wins on the trot, with plenty of goals for both William and Harry.
The defence was rock solid with George M, Adam, Charlie and occasional help from Tom only letting in one goal in nine matches.
Max had another great outing and having managed to persuade Harry to let him take a free kick just outside the box (how he did that with the coach shouting 'Let Harry take it' at full volume, I don't know), placed it perfectly into the top right corner.
Cameron raged through the mid-field and showed fine footballing guile with a couple of well chosen passes. All of which bodes well for next season.
And the best bit...there was actually a proper trophy for the team at the end! Well done Radley who ran a well organised tournament with the best pitches we have played on all season.
Well done Cumnor. Roll on next year.
