After Charlton struggled to raise a team for this long distance friendly, Max sportingly agreed to play in the first game for Charlton. Cumnor decided to prepare for next season by fielding two equal teams against the same Charlton side.

Any suggestion that Max wasn't fully committed to Charlton's cause was immediately dispelled as he and Tom fought hard to control the mid field. A long clearance upfield, fell into Cumnor's goalmouth, and a wicked spin of the ball gave Charlton the lead. However soon afterwards, Lucy continued her fine scoring run, by taking another poacher's opportunity. After that the match was largely level with neither side really troubling the goalkeepers. In the second match, Max started in goal for Charlton, and kept a clean sheet until Harry lifted the ball from outside the area over his head for Cumnor to take the lead. After that Cumnor looked in control, and early in the second half a great corner from Max (who had swapped sides by this point) was bundled into the net by Adam.
It was all looking good for Cumnor at this point until Max (he seems to be getting a lot of mentions this week!) brought down a Charlton player for a blatant penalty. At which point the game became a little more nail biting with chances at both ends, before William (now playing for Charlton) managed to handle a cross and Max (!) dispatched the penalty. More was to come with the Charlton star player hitting a long ball from around the halfway line passed Cumnor and bringing the match to a close finale. Cameron settled the match finally with a good goal.
In the Oxford mail league the result would have been recorded as 5-3 victory to Cumnor.
Well played everyone.
