Cumnor started this match full of confidence after a good start to the season.
In the first match Cumnor started brightly having not lost a match this year but within a few minutes were losing 1-0. Shortly afterwards Will levelled the score and optimism was restored in the belief that the set back was only temporary. However, this was not to be Cumnor's day as the Tower Hill front two strikers took control of the match and scored three consecutive goals on the trot.
At half time some substitutions were made to change the team. Injury forced Isacc off the pitch to be replaced by George M and Max came out of goal. The second half was a lot closer with Harry scurrying around with pace and scoring two goals. Max made his usuaul darting runs up the line with the ball. However, this time Tower Hill were too strong and managed to score another three goals winning the match 7-3 in total.
In all this was not a bad performance by Cumnor and the match was closer than the score line indicates. Cumnor probably had the better run of play in the second half but did not get the lucky breaks on the day to win.
Cumnor were hoping for a good start to the second match and Guy immediately rallied his team as Captain. George M was solid in mid field moving fluidly around the pitch as a focal point and within minutes had slotted a goal past the beleagured opposition. A renewed Issac was terrior like in his solid defiance against waves of attack. Tom was stoic in goal saving barrages time after time. In addition a splendid goal kick connected with Guy who ran the field and drove home Cumnors second goal of the match.
In the second half Tower Hill retaliated quickly to make the score 2-1 and and were looking decidedly stronger. Substitutions were made with Charlie, Harry and Cameron coming on. Cameron made a good individual run up the right wing and slotted Cunmors third goal to win the match 3-1.
As the weeks pass by each team member has a better understanding of their position and the passing between individuals continues to improve.
